Compiling
Prolog
into
SQL
- Simple
SQL-like
cmds
- Run
"join",
"filter",
etc
cmds
from
shell
or
script
to
perform
much
of
what
SQL
does.
Somewhere,
there's
a
user
interface
that
allows
typing
of
SQL-like
cmds
directly
--
the
system
creates
appropriate
pipe
farm
to
run
the
request.
All
data
files
are
text.
System
is
not
efficient.
- Prolog
self-compiler
with
above
as
object
language
- Allows
creation
of
basic
Prolog-to-csh
or
Prolog-to-perl
systems
with
only
small
amt
of
glue.
Full
ISO
Prolog
is
--
of
course
--
not
attempted.
Compiler
generates
inefficient
code
in
many
cases.
Run
on
grunt
desktop
for
"no
worries"
scenario.
- Basic
SQL
query
tool.
- Rough
&
ready
but
implements
a
surprising
subset
of
basic
SQL.
- Various
misc
test
scripts
and
logs
- At
least
it
proves
some
things
are
working.
Not
for
the
squeamish.
- "Flights"
database.
- One
of
the
test
scripts
needs
this
1000-line
file.
- Some
basic
documentation
for
above
- Should
not
be
needed.
